Mayor’s Court

The Village operates a Mayor’s Court under the auspices of the state of Ohio and handles violations of the Municipal ordinances, and has jurisdiction in all criminal cases involving moving traffic violations occuring on State highways located within the corporate limits, subject to the applicable laws of the state of Ohio. The Village follows the Ohio Supreme Court “Ohio Traffic Rules” which prescribe the procedure to be followed in the Mayor’s Court in traffic cases.

The Clerk of Courts hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Mayor’s Court is held every Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

Payments can be made in person, by mail or by telephone. A $5 processing fee will be assessed on all payments made with a credit/debit card. A gray drop box is in front of Village Hall that payments can be put in an envelope and dropped in the box at any time.

If the alleged offender would like to contest the case, the case will then be referred to Stow Municipal Court. All not-guilty and no-contest pleas require a personal appearance at the Court.

Please note that all juvenile cases are handled through the Summit County Juvenile Court. Regardless of whether a court date is on the ticket, Summit County Juvenile Court will notify the defendant with a court date and pertinent information.

All speed violations over 30 miles per hour require a mandatory court appearance.

3rd moving violations within a 12-month period require a mandatory court appearance.

If paying your ticket online, proof of insurance must have been provided to the Officer at the time of stop. If insurance was not provided, you must email it direct to: n.vankannel@bostonheightsvillage.com no later than the end of the business day.
