In May of 2021, Boston Heights took advantage of energy prices that were at their lowest levels since 2006. The Village locked in an electric Governmental Aggregation rate of 4.93. Eligible Residents and Small Businesses of Boston Heights will continue to enjoy their great rate on the generation portion of their electric bills through May of 2025.

Starting in the next few months, the Village will have to seek a new rate to replace the expiring contract with Energy Harbor. Energy prices have increased nearly 40% since that time due to various factors including inflation, global conflicts, and increased demand with lower supply of energy with the shuttering of more coal fire plants in the US.

Customers who are not in the program, but wish to participate can enroll by calling (866) 636-3749 or by navigating to the Energy Harbor website.

Rubbish service is not provided by the Village but available through Kimble Recycling & Waste Disposal directly between the hauler and the residents. The Village contracts with the hauler in order to ensure the lowest possible prices for this service. In 2012, the Village began to provide leaf pickup services during the fall. Service Department employees were able to pick up leaves in addition to the branch chipping service already provided by the Village.

** PLEASE NOTE: Containers and plastic bags shall be placed outside the building after sunset of the day preceding the collection and before 8:00 AM of the day of collection.  The empty container shall be removed from the tree lawn no later than midnight of the day of collection.
